My Oldest is my 56 ponton ,a steel sun roof car .
But my old mate here in brisbane has one of the oldest Benz's in the world that is fully registered and gets driven on the roads on occiasion. It's a 1913 Benz that was built up from a collection of bits. parts for the car were retrieved from all over Australia and research found they all came from the same car...
Most of the parts came with the remains of a 1928 SS. The '28 car was made into one of the first SSKL replicas ,later to be sold in Europe for a 7 figure sum.
The guy who imported my ponton ,also Imported the benz in 1913.
The guy who built the SSKL replica bought a 380 roadster ( he got a podium place at pebble beach with his resto) from poland, not an easy task as it's illegal to export vintage cars from Poland. So if you hear of anymore crap about ex nazi cars in Poland for sale ,discount them as rubbish.
India is full of prewar Mercedes, many of them in the same family since new but the same situation occurs because the laws there prohibit the export of old cars and the import of parts for older cars.
That being said, some the best restorations I have ever seen have been done in India.
