Is this the 603 timing indicator box? I need one!
I recently replaced the rings in my '87 300D turbo and it isn't running well, its nailing and all the injectors were rebuilt by Gus at the local Bosch shop so I am very sure they aren't the problem. rather than use the eyeball method (using a mirror to look for the slot in the IP) I'd rather do this the factory way.
Brian, is it possible to list crazy banana's tool?

BTW I have a 32 point MB tool (socket) for removing the delivery nozzles off the 603 IP, to loan free, you may add to the list w/ $30 deposit.

Reid

Does anyone have a Tie Rod Ball Joint tool. 21.5mm fork. Inside working height 50mm. Or something else that will work. My air hammer is shot so I thought I'd try one of those little tools.

Vehicle is a 1985 300 Turbodiesel, I need to do all three tie rod assemblies.

A trick that I use to separate such joints is to smack it with a large mallet. You want to hit on the side of the piece that receives the joint. So, if a tie-rod, hit on the spindle next to where it goes through the hole. As always, use caution.

Thanks
David

Thanks,

I'm 1/3 of the way back with the SDL. It's running better, especially after a 200 mile run from NC to Virginia Beach.

OK, duly noted. And I sent payment for a new RIV tool before I left for Texas. Oh well.

Willy, the list only shows the member and the price. The terms are up to the lessor. I would strongly urge you to request a deposit equal to the value of the tool, if you have any doubts about who the person is. Surely someone with a zero post count would necessitate a full value deposit.

I was thinkming that if there is a line of people waiting for a tool, maybe for the shipping it could work that the person mails the tool tot he next person in line...

I dunno it could work..

Steve does this with the timing chain crimper. I have not yet done it with the spring compressor because I'm gaining experience on the durability of the tool.

But, it appears that it really can't be easily damaged so I may elect to go this route very soon.

The cost to ship the spring compressor is at least $15.00 each way. If we can eliminate one of these charges, it drops the rental cost by 25%.

Mine is definitely a clone of the Klann made by Baum tools. AFAIK, the second one listed is also similar........but double check.
