Squeaky 190E suspension
Hey all:
My car squeaks over bumps. Any idea what I should look at first? Also, I can sometimes hear the same squeak as I come to a slow stop. Could it be the wheel bearings (considering that the suspension is not working much when I come to a full stop)? Or is it definitely a suspension component? What suspension components can be lubed on a 190E? Thanks in advance.

Often with the 201 and 124 series it is the ball joint. Carefully check the dust boot and see if there is evidence of wear. You can also squirt (carefully so not to get on any braking surface) some lube or WD40. If the squeak goes away you know what it was.
Can you make it squeak while standing still? If so, have someone create the noise while you check for the reason. Haasman

Is it coming from the front or rear?
If it's the rear, check the rear hub carrier, I bet that's the problem. Tinker |
