300E Fuel range
What is the general consensus as to the range of a 1987 300E?(owned for 1 week - with 90 000 km)
the owners manual says it has a 70 L tank with a 9 litre reserve. can i expect around 650ish km out of a tank? what is the most you can get out the tank, i.e. how many of the 79 L are useable? does the feed in the tank have a raised tube of some sort? my other car has a 75L tank and will run dry at 67L. the remaining 8L are obvioiusly below the feed. i know it is not a good idea to run it dry anyway but as i dont know the car yet i would like some idea as to what to expect. ta kmc Last edited by kaiser; 01-28-2004 at 06:53 PM. |

We see 350-375 miles between fillups, but I don't know what that comes out to in metric meters and liters....maybe 10mm?

I have 1989, 300E. Get approx 600 ks per 56 lts on a trip, little heavier on fuel around town. I believe that 70 lts is total fuel in tank. I have been to 62 litre fill and everything was ok.

I get between 350 to 375 MILES (600 kms) before the reserve light comes on.
I never drive more than 3 miles (5 kms) after the light is on.

The fuel tank capacity is 70 litres. (61 + 9 in reserve)
My reserve light comes on at about 550 km (337 miles) But i have driven as much as 630 km (394 miles) before re-fueling. Freestyler
