'98 E320/W210/M112 Block Drain Plug
I've read the archives on changing the coolant, but I'm unsure about draining the coolant from the engine block on my '98 E320.
I found what I believe to be the drain plug. It is on the right side (passenger side), between the motor mount and exaust manifold. It appears to be smooth all the way around, so if this is it, how should I loosen it? Is there a trick to draining the block? Thanks in advance. |

The hole in the middle of the drain, where the coolant comes out, is hex shaped. You loosen it with an allen wrench, I believe 6 or 7 mm.

I was expecting it would work like the bleed screw on the brakes, but I guess you just have to spill a little coolant when you swap the allen wrench for a rubber hose.
Gilly, Once again, thanks for the quick response. Benzthere |
