Question on C-230 1999 model synthetic oil ?
Can I use mobil 5W-40 synthetic oil instead of 0W-40? I usually shop at Costco, and it's hard to find 0W-40 synthetic oil at Costco. They only have 5W-40 or 10W-40. Can these two types of synthetic oil comply with MB? Please advice.

At the very worst, 5W-40 oil will cost you a bit of milage. As far as lubrication goes, it's probably better.
