manuals and startekinfo.com
Has anyone here used Star Tekinfo? When I first bought my car I tried to get the service CD's but was told they wouldn't be available until April/May. So I called today and MB publications claims that they probably won't be out till the end of the year? Does anybody else think 6 years is a tad long for an available service manual?? They recommended I subscribe to www.startekinfo.com which offers subscription rates from $20/day, $300/month, or $2500/yr! Has anyone here used this site? If anyone has a source for the CD or other manuals please let me know, I'd rather pay once and be done with it.
Thanks, Al |

yeah M.B. Doc, the search engine isn't that good, came up with nothing but my post even after searching for a partial match(keyword "startekinfo"). Even your previous post didn't offer anything new. What do you think of the site and is there any hope in getting a CD?
Thanks again, -Al |

well after waiting for some opinions i bought a day's worth of access. i can honestly say burning 20 dollars would have been more helpful. the site is pretty bad if you are searching for things like torque specs, pics of individual parts, and instructions on repair. you get overloaded with every little MB tech bulletin ever posted and sifting thru all that stuff will take a while. i'm a little perplexed at the poor site and lack of technical information. i've worked on other luxury vehicles in the past and didn't expect this sort of trouble for my entry level MB.

That is the SAME site that the dealers get their info!! Guess after 30 years working on MB's that their "logical" format is somewhat a pain unless you know the system, I have NO problems finding what I need due to group system knowledge.
As far as I know that is the only way to get info on later MB's.
