Recently my wife's W124 would not start. She called MB roadside assistance (which we received free when we purchased the vehicle), and a chap came and simply 'reset the computer' and all was well. Can anyone tell me why this would happen, how it can be avoided, and can I reset the computer if it happens again?

I've heard of reinitializing the ECU in some american cars by disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes, but I've never heard of a computer "reset". Did he remove the battery cable?? This could be interesting..
