91 sl-500 wiring deterioration

Did you fix the wiring before selling it? If not did you disclose the problem to the buyer?

Just for others info:

The ignition switch is split into two parts; the barrel (housing the mechanical key lock): and the electrical contacts.

The electrical section retails at around 50UKP and has a connector on its rear so it's relatively easy to change - mine exhibits similar issues but only once a month or so. So I haven't 'got round to it' quite yet!
