380SE knock sensor?
Would an M116-engined US-spec '85 380SE be equipped with any kind of knock sensor or device to detect detonation and adjust timing accordingly?
Thanks in advance, -Sam |

Saw your post hanging out with no answer.
I have the manuals for the 380SL. The 1985 has the drop-it-in-set-the-timing distributor, so I would say, NO.

MB didn't start using KNOCK sensors until 1989 on the 4 valve@cylinder engines. USA in1990.
