Okay, the window on my 300SD wasn't working, so I found my way into the door's guts. What it is, the cog wheel on the motor is not making straight contact with the cog wheel on the window mechanism. The two wheels touch each other but do not fit perfectly, so they rub but do not get the job done. What can I do to fix this? Sorry for the vague explanation.

Your window motor is fine but your window lefter is bad (bent).....replace it with new one.

So if I go to Autozone and ask for a "window lefter" for a MB, they will say okay, and not look at me with a blank stare?

Not quite. You will have to go to a Mercedes independent and see if they will order you one from a supplier.
We will have the parts ordering and sending capability in two weeks or less, but that probably won't help, but if so when we offer parts you'll know it!! ------------------ Benzmac: ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN LEAD TECHNICIAN FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |
