Fuses are warping soon after installation

1990 300CE. I have two fuses (#B and #5) that keep getting warped soon after I put new ones in. Any ideas why this is happening? There is also a hole in the side of the fuse box that looks like it was scrapped out and not melted.

There are the original types of fuses that have a ceramic body and solid metal connector. Then there are the cheap knock-offs that have a plastic body and a cheesy plated connector. If you are using the knock-offs, I would first suspect they are the problem, assuming no shorts in the affected circuits.

Warped or blown? If not blown, then test that they blow at the recommended amperage. If they don't, then find a set that do and reinstall. If the new ones don't blow, then close it up and call it a day.

Ceramic fuses are getting harder to find.

Just get the plastic ones from Amazon and reuse the ceramic body.....I personally have not had any issue finding the ceramic ones.

Didn't know you could do that, will start collecting them when I visit the JY.

Yep! I order the plastic ones from Amazon and found that they tend to melt with heat where the strip will sink into the plastic at the ends until there is deformed plastic touching the copper contacts instead of the fuse strip. Again, I've had no issue finding these fuses online for cheap.
