W210 M113 Tick tick sound by cam
Does the M113 have cam oilers that go bad?
The tick tick sound started one day (that I noticed it), so I'm thinking something broke. I hear the noise when the car is idling, but not when I'm running a normal driving speeds. Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. 2002 W210 M113 E430 Miles: 107,000 I did just change the spark plugs, and after that is when I noticed the sound. The sound concerns me, but the car accelerates nice and smooth, with no other symptoms.

A ticking noise after replacing the spark plugs is more likely an electric arcing noise than a mechanical one. Check for loose plug wires (with the car off), cracked plug ceramics.
Look at the engine at night with it running to possibly see the arcing. Be careful, secondary ignition voltage can jump farther than you realize to shock you. Good luck!!!

Nothing at night
The sound does not go away with speed, but does not get louder.
The tapping frequency does change with speed At night, there are no visible sparks (yes, removed the engine cover) Thanks again

Hook up an oil pressure gauge to the oil pressure test port. This engine has no built in oil pressure gauge or oil pressure idiot light. There's an O rings between the oil pump and block that is known to fail. The first symptom of low oil pressure is ticking lifters.

Problem solved (I think)
Yes, Sugar Bear called it out.
Problem solved today by simply pushing the plug wire on for all the plugs. I noticed one moved when I pushed. Seems the ticking stopped. Others suggested Oil Change - which I did. And I appreciate tjts1 comment about oil pressure. I found many articles referencing the oil pressure or lack of it. Thanks all. Now if I could just find how to replace the Instrument Cluster (pixels dead and the gas gauge is not always accurate)
