300E 89' Windshield Sprinkler
Does anyone have a diagram of the 300E windshield sprinkler
system. What is the role of the thick rubber tube which goes to the dashboard from the radiator area at front? |

I believe the hose you mention is for the headlamp washer system, the small wiper arms on the headlights.
If you start the car and switch on the headlights, then activate the windshield washer, the headlights are sprayed with washer solvent and the small wipers run for a few seconds. Only if the headlights are on though, and only for a few seconds. They don't run continuosly. Hope this helps. Gilly

I am reffering to a different hose.
On the top of the widshield washer fluid container there is a heating element and a hose both going into the container from the TOP. This hose is connected through a el.pump with a larger hose which runs under the car battery or close to it and into the wall of the dashboard. What its role? |

That hose (there should be two) circulates coolant thru the heating element, which has it's own tiny thermostat. Used to warm the washer fluid.

OK I got that part on the heating element and the circulation of the washer fluid. The hoses from the heating element
or the one next to it eventualy go under the battery and into the wall under the windshield. My question is: does the tubing just end on the wall or does it go into some other compartment which has a function of its own? |

The other hose, the small one that goes to the firewall, is for a bladder on the underside of the bottom of the glass, which keeps the area the windshield wipers rest at warm, to prevent the wipers from freezing to the glass.
