Becker Radio fault code E 2

1992 300E Becker radio failed. Antenna goes up. No signals received. Rebooted by disconnecting battery. Entered radio code. Radio works for a few seconds and shuts off. Error code E2 shows on the radio. Checked fuses and the 7.5 amp fuse on the turner in the trunk OK and have 12 volts going to the turner in trunk.
Car has been sitting for about 4 months. Any thing else I need to check or do?

I was wondering, is there any way I could use the radio without plugging the amplifier cable and not getting this error (E2), because I don't have one and I would like to use and aftermarket amplifier connected directly to a low level audio signal from the board?

The head unit is just a pushbutton unit with a cassette player in it. It does nothing but send data to the tuner unit in the trunk. The trunk unit is the actual radio that generates all of the audio with these multi-piece radio setups. You can pull audio from the trunk unit, but you cannot use the head unit by itself since it's basically just a pushbutton unit. See your other thread in the multimedia section, I gave you a more detailed reply there.
