M104 Belt Tensioner: Retrofit New Style

Found lots of talk about it, but no confirmation anyone has done so successfully.

I think we all agree the old style sucks and as I approach 250K on my 124.092 with it still running like a top (knock on wood) I would love to replace it with the new style. Same block, same(?) accessories, it has to be a simple matter of brackets, no? I know, I'm over simplifying it.

Can it be done? Has anyone done it.

The compressor bracket is different for the new style. 3 bolts instead of 4 to hold the compressor. I just rigged the third bolt on my 103. If you can use a late compressor it would be a simple bolt in. Regardlessif you want to keep the old 4 bolt compressor it can be done with a bit of ingenuity
