Which FLEECE oil filter?
Oil change is coming up for my 2006 E350. I've wasted lots of time researching oil and filters.
An interesting point is that AMG is apparently more picky about oil that MBZ is. AMG, at least in what I could find, only will recommend Mobil 1 Super Syn European Car Formula 0-40 while Mercedes will tolerate other main brands of similar synthetic oil that meet spec 229.5 As to filters, I read one blog that AMG recommends only Mahle Knecht filters but I could not confirm that. Mercedes OEM filters are supposedly Mann brand. I certainly have no problem paying a few bucks additional to use the Mobil 1 oil but if anyone has any advice as to which is the best filter, it would be much appreciated.

I've used Mann fleece filters HU7185X for a lot of miles and when I remove, its never shown any signs of weakness. Cant say the same for some other filters I've seen.
Mobil1 Euro 0-40w ahd the HU7185X is an inexpensive winning combo.
