Removing the intake manifold on a M272 engine
The car is a 2007 CLK 350. One of the plastic parts in the front of the manifold is falling apart, so I'll be removing the manifold and replacing it with a rebuilt one. There are some good youtube videos on the procedure, but I was hoping some of you guys might have some helpful tips.
Most of my experience is with diesel engines and I'm not sure if there is a method for priming a gas injection system after you've installed the injectors, or if you just let the pump push all of the gas and air through the system. Thanks

There is no priming procedure necessary for a port injected gasoline engine. Cycle the ignition switch three time or so and then crank the engine (approximately 5-15 seconds) until the engine starts up. Shouldn't be any problems for you

I did my replacement about 3mo ago...it was really straight forward in reality. Plenty of youtube videos around for M272 intake manifold replacement.
My only tip is ignore using a bunjee cord to keep the new intake gaskets in place. Just install the new ones, and use a small dap of superglue where it "snaps" in, and it'll hold it in place perfectly fine. Replace the knock sensors ($20/each), replace injector o-rings, inspect cam magnets and cam position sensors for any leaks and just replace them if so. spin pulleys, especially idler pulley check oil cooler for signs of leaking

Everything was going along just great until I removed one of the manifold bolts and on the way up clipped a piece of the injector rail with the top of my socket that looks like some type of pressure valve. I've included a picture of what I damaged. Is this something that I can replace separately, or do I have to replace the entire rail. Any ideas what this will cost new?
Also, once I'm ready to move the injectors and rail to the new manifold, what's the process for removing and installing the injectors? Thanks

I was able to find a used fuel rail locally, and finished the job yesterday. Thanks for your help.
