SRS for 88 300E
My SRS light in on. Most of my experinece has been with GM. To read codes you would use a jump wire and leave it in place a read out the codes.
I pulled up the info from ALLDATA with stated one could use an impulse counter or a jump wire to bride between terminal 1 and terminal 6 when one has a X92 connector. It states the impulse read out should be dispalyed by means of a blincking SRS lamp in the instrument cluster. My SRS light would never blick out codes only stay lite in the on position where running or not when the key is on. Do you have any knowledge or will I have to go to a dealer? Thanks, NNBC |

You can use a test light to retract the codes from the system or build a LED box like people have described before on here. If it was me I would bring it to an independent Mercedes shop that can extract the codes and give you an estimate of fixing the problem. I DONT recommend DIYers work on the srs system due to the care that has to be taken when working on it.I personally have had people try to do the work themselves and it cost them double due to the damage to the system.
