fuel injectors replace every 90K?
I would like to know if fuel injectors need replacing as a maintenance item at 90-100K miles? I will not have them cleaned due to the labor cost involved (might as well put in a $22 injector that is new).
Do the fuel injector holders, seals, and O-rings need to be replaced, even if the injectors do not? 1983 380 SEL Thanks |

Not a bad idea but would be a waste of $$$ unless they had dirt/rust in the complete fuel system. HAVE tested many original injectors with 150K + more miles that were still good!!
The PLASTIC heat shields start cracking at 6 or 7 years & then idle problems can happen. Also all of the rubber connecting tubes can cause this. Also have tested NEW injectors from MB that didn't spray that well.
