Transmission & Differential rebuild tools

Hi all,

I've got a couple of Transmissions and differentials to rebuild.

I don't do DIY shortcuts, so I am chasing the factory tools required to help me do a full rebuild on both 722.3xx and 722.5xx transmissions as well as 107/126, 124 & 201 differentials.

Not sure if having ASD diffs makes it any more difficult, as far as I can see it doesn't mention the need for any extra tools in the ASD manual. the 107 differentials are LSD, and the stahlwille torque tool I am unable to locate at this point also.

Does anyone have a list of MB part #'s ? worst case is I will find they are all NLA.

If anyone has tools they are wanting to sell I'd be interested also.

Thanks in advance.

If you look on www.startekinfo.com you get easy and free access to the W201 FSM - there's a PDF there that lists the special tools for the W201 differential rebuild.

I've recently looked up the cost of the pushing part used to remove the smallest pinion bearing cup and it was about 130 euros including tax - that was just the push part (looks a bit like a disc) not the rest of the gucci press and all that jazz...

...ummm good luck with the second mortgage!

If you get stuck for the 722.3/4/5 special tools I can probably help - but not today 'cos I'm a bit busy.

As I'm busy rebuilding a W201 differential at the moment - albeit trying my hardest not to end up buying the special tools (!) - I've posted up some screen shots to start the ball rolling
