Help deciding on a trailer hitch for the w124 sedan.

As the title states, I'm looking for any recommendations on any specific hitch. I see a lot out there for wagons, etc.

I need one to install on my 89 300e w124. Sedan.

It seems the one that fits is the Curt #11816. I have looked around, I got one estimate from uhaul for about $475. It seems about $200 in labor.

Does anybody have any experience with the hitch kit and installation? I don't mind at all installing it myself, but time is money, and if it takes all day to do it, I would rather shell out the $200.

Thanks in advance.

My indy got one for his TE, granted it's not the same, but the components are similar.

Then install a Euro-style tow hook

I see a lot on the wagons, but dont know if they are the same. THe euro hitch is cool.

I see the curt hitch on fleabay for $250 ish. In the title they say "86-95", but in the compatablility, it says only 94-95.

Has anybody ever install one of these on a sedan?

Did you did anything to the Bundt wheels? they look awesome, but different to the others I have seen .. like staggered.

Can the TE handle a decent size trailer?

I'm not familiar with S124 towing capacities. I guess that depends on the definition of "decent size trailer"

Here's an old thread by a fellow member with a 1.25" hitch on his sedan (diesel)

91' 124 Hitch options - how to ?

E-Trailer states the same Curt hitch model ID# 11816:

Thank you! They are not original, but instead are aftermarket 15" bundt wheels like Ashedd stated:
