Fuel Pressure Test kit
I want to do a fuel pressure test on my two MB's.
Car 1) 1989 300E (M103) with Bosch KE- Jetronic Car 2) 1999 C230K (M111) with Bosch ME Motronic ?? For the M103, as I understand the basic test - you disconnect the fuel inlet line from the distributor and install a short nipple that has a fitting for the pressure gauge line. On the M111, I understand there is a Shrader valve on the fuel rail which is the tap to measure fuel pressure. Problem is that I can't find an economical kit to do either car. I can find base kits for $60 or less (designed for Ford and GM systems) but then I can't find the fittings that work with the fuel systems for Mercedes. Cheap kits use hose clamps on fuel lines whereas the expensive kits appear to have many fittings but these kits are $250 to $350. Surely there is a fuel pressure test kit under $100 that can properly and safely measure fuel system pressures of these two cars. The device seems elementary to me - fittings, fuel line, and gauge. I could't find a rental unit either. Can anyone suggest a kit or another process to acquire fuel pressures? Can I get a kit that will work with both cars? Anyone have a used kit for sale? I appreciate any direction so I can economically assess the fuel system. Thanks, Paul
