E320 PO161 Car Does Not Start

For the last week my car has had intermittent starting problems. I will drive for a period of time and the car will no longer start. It cranks but no start. I thought that I had a fuel pump issue since the pump was not running. I replaced the relay and car starts right up. Drive for two days same problem. There does not seem to be spark when I pull a wire and put in spark plug and ground it. Check scanner and have PO161 code. Any ideas??

usually it's the crank sensor. they will not throw a code when they die. the p0161 is another problem, not related. good luck, chuck.

Crankshaft Position Sensor

I changed the CPS and it seems to have solved the problem.

Thanks for the input.
