Dash Cluster 2000 E320 210 ?
Hi Everyone,
I was finally able to get my old cluster out to examine for a noise. I found a cluster on ebay to replace my old one that makes a buzzing noise. Would this be plug in play? The one on ebay is from a 2000 and that is the same year as mine. So, I'm assuming that the mileage and everything should show if I plug the replacement in? Thanks for any advice. |

buzzing... I'm not sure if the model of your car has a speedometer cable, but if it does it could need some grease

Nothing in the cluster will buzz that I'm aware of. More likely something in the A/C system such as debris or a control 'flap' not closing completely. You could try changing around the settings on the CC unit to see if those cause a change.
People have had varying success with replacement clusters. Within the part number there are 'series' of clusters. At the very least you need the one which matches your ECU. This is why most people live with a few bad pixels or have their cluster repaired. You are correct that the cluster is merely a display and the values are generated/stored elsewhere. |

Great thanks. I've tried playing around with the climate control and no change. I'll see if the display change makes any difference. I took an auto stethoscope and the noise points to the cluster. We'll see....
