95 E320 cabrio AMG??????
I've been looking for a 94/95 E320 cabrio off and on for a while now, saw this on Ebay. Take a look at the front end??????? doesn't look like a stock E320. Seller says it's an AMG Aero Body.
http://cgi.ebay.com:80/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220551099241&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123 Anybody know if AMG ever modified the E320 Cabrio? If so, what all was included in the mod? Any change in engine hp/output? Thanks, J. M. van Swaay

You might run the VIN at the Russian MB club site and see what comes back.
If you need the URL, http://old.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/?lng=eng |

nope.. if it was AMG it would have the 3.6 liter.. and it doesnt.
loops like someone put a r129 front end on it the exhaust tips might be signs of an AMG exhaust but cant tell |

yeah.. I love that green. I wish mine was green.
The cabrio in question does have AMG exhaust tips, which probably means it has an AMG exhaust and I want monoblocks badly |

As usual, the seller doesn't know what he has. It's a 1995 E320 Cab that has an R129 front end, a body kit, and that's probably a Remus exhaust rather than an AMG - the Remus has the square tips like that.
It wasn't a factory-built AMG conversion, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like it - the R129 front ends usually look silly to me, but in this case with that color and the body kit, I think it looks rather good. Still, $21k is expensive for that car.

If I remember correctly the R129 is based on the W124 so maybe that conversion wasn't as difficult as it looks?

Thanks for the replies--you all have confirmed what I was thinking. If it really was a true AMG it would have the 3.6L engine, and it would still look like an E320. Looks like somebody swapped out the front end with one off a 129.....
I kinda like it though.....

The vehicle in question appears to have an Extreme Dimensions body kit installed.
The telling sign is that the bumper impact strips are molded into the bumpers, not separate part as OEM or AMG GEN II. If I recall there was a pre face lift early M104-24V listed on EBAY at the same time. It appeared to have been GEN I kitted by one of the AMG USA shops.

Remus
I have one and LOVE it. Unfortunately they are NO longer available, back in the 1990s tuners / Remus dealers had them for sale for $750, but no more, they are engineered SPECIFICALLY for the W126 chassis, and are NOT universal fit.
I tried a couple of years to set up a group buy and Remus would only tool up if 10 customers would pay. About $975 each, and we even had a NJ Remus Distributor ready to set it up. Unfortunately talk was cheap and only myself and one other person would ante up the cash and so, the deal collapsed. I snagged a brand new one right afterwards in Manhattan from a guy who found it in his garage when he moved to FL after he sold his 560SEC. I paid him $1,000 for it --- immediately --- when I found his ad. Looks good, and it's very quiet. Nice tone too PLUS 2 more hp dyno tested Though I ditched my resonators a year, lost 30 pounds off the car( which sounds noisy as hell now, but lotsa fun!) Remus is really good, they make the F1 exhausts for the euro race cars too. This is the exact W126 Remus unit I purchased as seen new -

I don't know about the 126, but Remus exhausts are still available for the 124. I had a new system installed on my 300CE last year.
