how can you run power to a dash cluster to check for mileage
i have a 01 slk 230 im parting out that was hit pretty good and i want to know the mileage on it since everything on the car basically looked new and it was probably low mileage. I got the cluster out of the car and there are 2 connectors that go to it with a lot of wiring. Is there anyway I can run power to it and be able to see how many miles are stored on the unit?
thanks

Mileage won't be there
the mileage is just displayed in the instrument pod, but on a car with a computer, the mileage is stored in the computer

Reinstall it and hook up the battery? If missing parts prevent that, then I would just estimate 10-12K per year.
Good luck. |

If you can't get it to readout, then run a carfax report and hopefully it will have been recorded recently.
