300e dead window regulator

i have an 88 300e, my driver's side window does not go up or down. Can do it manually, motor turns, but regulator does not move.

found a small nylon bushing of sort. See attached image.
Can anyone tell me how this forsaken small piece attach? I've spent a couple of hours but I give up. Is this the reason why my regulator isn't receiving the energy from the motor and gear assembly?

I will get a manual soon but would like to know for sure, how to solve the issue.

Any help is appreciated. thanks.

ps. I've learnt a lot about my 300e from this forum. you guys are great!

Most likely it needs to be replaced. Check under Resources and DIY. I only have W126 experience.

Well I got around to fixing my window. Took it apart and turns out it was the regulator. Not the motor but the actual regulator assembly.

At least I know now how to take apart the door panels.

Thanks for the advice.
