300E outer door trim?

The passenger lower outer door trim on my 1986 300E has been pulled out/damaged from opening next to curbs. Do I need to replace the whole trim Or just straighten the trim piece and install new plastics inserts??

Thanks...
Dave

I had that happen to my old '89. It wasn't really bent, just pulled away. Got new clips and reattached it. If yours is actually bent the plastic may actuall deformed, but I would think you can rebend it carefully and reattach. Dennis

You just need to buy the new clips that attach to the door...If they have come off, they are most likely broken. If the panel is bent...it may be still okay because there are a number of clips that attach to it....so it may hold it straight.

If in doubt, you can always go to the junkyard and get one for a couple bucks.

Remove it, straighten it (metal inside), reinstall.
