2000 S430 Mirror signal replacement

i have a 2000 S430. the main display is telling me to check left signal mirror...
it is not working.... i have checked the fuses and they are fine... the passenger side signal mirror is working properly... im guessing that the led's are burnt out even though i have never heard of leds burning out.... i have purchased a pair of replacement signals and would like to install them myself.... i have no idea how to disassemble the the mirrors to replace the lights.... can anyone help??? or if possible am i overlooking a simple troubleshoot to get the factory signal to work.. i am mechanicaly inclined at a moderate level, and i would prefer to do this without taking the car to benz to pay a zillion dollars for them to do it....

You need to remove the mirror glass itself (makes it a little easier). Then remove the actual housing itself(usually a metal tab that needs to be pressed/or moved forward/backward) then usually the marker lens is held in by 2-3 T10 torx screws. Undo the screw, remove old marker and re-install in reverse order.
