Cocomats does it again...

You might remember I had a set of these in my 300D-t that burned up. They were in Jaspe colors and were superb in fit and wear.

I decided to get a set for the E320 wagon. When I ordered them I ordered them in #21 Tan. But the next day, without me asking, Jeff from Cocomats (he and his wife run the place) notified me he was sending out a couple of sample (he had already mailed them) as he wanted me to look at the other Tan that he recently started carrying because he felt it might match the Mushroom/Parchment interior better. Since he didn't have one to compare he wanted me to look at it. Well... the new Tan (#24) is indeed a much better match/contrast than the slightly more orangish tan (#21). The #21 is a good match for the older Palomino but this new tan is a much better choice for later Parchment.

You be the judge.

The fit is perfect and exact too. And the overall construction is as heavy and well done as any you will find. I highly recommend you skip the other cheaply made Cocomat's out there and go with the real thing. Much better fit and wear and quality for just a tiny bit more money. Full 4 piece set is $214 shipped. Cocomats.com

I cannot convey adequately how heavy these are. The larger front passengers side must weigh near 20 pounds. Once placed they stay put. Cannot slide them. You have to lay them in where you want them or lift them back up to move them.

Yes Authur. The ones I took out for these were Black and looked quite nice. However they were cheap knock offs, complete with ripped off Mercedes name and logo...and had started flaking off a black carbon like material. They came in the car when it was bought and one was missing as well. They had to go.

But Black is an excellent choice for Parchment interiors. They looked nice too. I debated between the two but felt a Tan/Mushroom sort of thing might not show dirt as badly. I also debated the use of a Black with tan dots like this that they have

This is their Black herringbone that also might be a nice choice

Yes , both are nice..I have gone with a good set of Black and there is something Solid looking about it..can't put my finger on it, but it seems rich and seems to appoint a balanced dimension to the dash.........I think my leather adds too......always liked the simplistic elegance of the E320 Interior.

I was actually quite nervous about the Tan. Luckily Jeff sent me the samples and the results worked. Black was actually a safer choice really. But if you want to go this way then get the #24 as it works.

Yes, the Black gives the seats and sills a background framings effect and seems to make them the eyes focal point.. the Parchment sure does frame out and contrast well ..............I have a very dark color car, so that probably also adds to the balance.

It this the same co. as www.cocomats.com ??? My 1984 Euro 500SEC couple is Lapis Blue with Orion Grey leather interior. I thought that I'd want Grey mats, but upon acquiring the car I found that the original US owner had used a lighter brighter blue than Cocomats have and the contrast was simply amazing. However the driver side is gone and the passenger side front has this owners initials in it. The back mats are perfect. I can see where Cocomats blue and white dot mats would be exceptional and great looking as well , but would prefer a lighter brighter blue. BTW this car came from the factory with "coir" mats.

Same one. Yes.

Have Jeff send you out some samples. He prefers you look at them I believe and decide as sometimes the pictures are slightly misleading as they are. He'll send them out pretty fast to you. In fact this one I got, the #24, is not even on the site.

Another little interesting side benefit is the nice smell. You can smell the coconut oils in them and when you get done installing them you can smell it on your hands. Not strong but just a hint of it. It reminds you of a day at the beach smelling the Coconut tanning lotions of the old days. And it lingers for months. My old 300D still had that hint of Coconut even before it burned up when it sat closed up in the Sunshine on a warm day. Just a hint of Coconut oil like each time you would enter the car.

These were the "Jaspe" ones I had in the 300D, which was a dark Blue car with Palomino interior which worked well bringing the Black, Browns and Tan all together in that car.

No.. this color was called "Deep Blue"... and anyone that has a car with this one, I happen to have some touch up paint I don't think I can use anymore.

Jaspe looked good in your 300D. I'm thinking about getting some in that shade for my 300D. It's got a creme interior with sheepskins on the fronts that are the same shade of those you had.
