Don't know to be honest. Though I am sure there are some options available if you want to stiffen the ride and/or lower it a bit. If you are happy with the stock ride though, then you're all set. It is a tradeoff with the sport suspension as well - the ride is far more jarring and 'un-Benzlike'. You no longer feel detached from the road but rather one with it. You will also bring to life any minor rattles you had before and perhaps discover a few new ones as well.

Checked on Bilstein and Eibach sites, Eibach does sport suspensions for rear-drive W210 (dirt cheap but it doesn't fit the 4Matic), Bilstein does a sports-rated (expensive) shock absorber again for rear-drive cars...
A pretty annoying glitch: headlights got water leaks inside, I must figure a way to remove the outer plastic cover to wipe (and seal back) ~Nautilus

assembly from the vehicle, the lens removal is about a 5-10 minute job, and with simple screwdriver tools. the only challenge is that for your 210, the bumper needs to be removed....which adds another 45 minutes or so to the job. I am forunate to have a 1999 E320 so the headlight removal takes less than 10 minutes as the bumper does not need to be touched.

Estimated the fuel consumption and it's enormous, in American terms it barely does 13 mpg in moderate city traffic
Next step: immediate spark plug change Is there a way to do it myself, like I did in the M103, or there are special tools needed? ~Nautilus

You'll need 12 plugs (there's 2 plugs per cylinder in the M112 engines) and you may need some special tools (103-0037) to remove the plug wires. The cost of ignition coils and spark plug wire sets seem to be significantly higher than my M104, I intend to be very careful when replacing mine.

On late models, the airbag off signal should appear when the passenger seat is vacant. If someone is sitting in the front passenger seat, and the airbag is "off", then you have a problem. Not sure if this car is equipped as such, but it might be worth checking out.

This sounds more serious than a spark plug change. Ours gets 23-26 mpg regularly, with a good 30% of that being stop-and-go city driving, and the rest of it rush hour highway. The first thing that comes to mind is the MAS.

I'd like to have a wrong conversion, but it's just that - 20 liters/100 km, moderate city traffic
The spark plugs should be replaced anyway for the sake of safety, I can't be sure they were ever changed. Asked for some NGK BKR5-series, should check the price on the Bosch ones as well What is the code for a M112 MAS? ~Nautilus

Actually, it's even a little worse ... 100km/20L = just under 12 mpg.
Mine averaged 24.1 mpg over the last 10000 mi, ca. 30% city, 70% highway. Something's not right.

Check for codes, O2 sensors could be aging and not responding well, MAF as Jonathan suggested, etc. Plugs aren't too likely to be an issue unless you feel/detect a misfire.

Your fuel economy is terrible. Something is wrong.
My E430 is averaging 19 mpg in mixed driving. I get closer to 17 mpg in all city driving, and 26 mpg in all freeway driving.

The dash computer, which had been reset 174km ago, estimated a fuel economy of 19l/100km for this range (checked a few minutes ago).
However it claims there are 13 liters in the tank and a range of 82 km is possible, which means it (the computer) calculated a 15.85l/100km(about 15 mpg) fuel economy. The car has been driven for the last few months only in city stop-and-go crawling traffic by the previous owner and myself. The following should have been done anyway for the sake of safety: - check for malfunction codes - replace filters and sparkplugs - clean injectors - reset service reminder (it claims the service has been exceeded although it has been performed and the sticker indicating the next service is in the engine compartment). How is it done? Thanks everybody ~Nautilus

I've changed the air filter today and used the opportunity to pull the MAF and examine it, it appeared clean as a mirror, both wire and metallic surface. Wiped it a bit with alcohol(very gently), wiped again with clean cotton until dry, placed it back, wiped the airbox and MAF plastic tube case.
The new sparkplugs have been delivered this morning, they are Bosch FR8DPP33 type, platinum. Guess the R should mean they are resistor plugs, but these were listed in the dealer database for my engine code. New fuel filter and cabin air filter should be delivered in a few days The "Service B" reminder has become pretty annoying, tried the reset procedure as described (ignition key to position 2, press the R button twice, back to position 1, hold R button, key to position 2 again) and gained nothing. Tried also with key back to 0 instead of 1, still nothing, it resets the small odometer but not the reminder. Any other ideas of what should I do?... ~Nautilus

Try the reset procedure with the drivers door closed. If is left open for some reason I couldn't get it to work.

Have tried it with door open, closed, every possible way, and still doesn't reset. It may not work on European-spec W210
