Headlight issue S320. Advise??
This evening as I was coming home, I hit a deer in my 95 S320. The only damage was a slight dimple in the hood, the trim under the headlight was broken where the wiper comes through, and the headlight was pushed back. It appears that some of the plastic that holds the headlight in place was broken off.
My question is, is it worth getting aftermarket headlights, and if so, what kind with links and why? Or is it worth just getting another Bosch bucket, (the glass is fine) and putting it back to what it was? Thank you very much for your help ahead of time.

Most of the stuff on e-bay is crap. You get what you pay for, not surprisingly.
Which side took the hit? Reason for asking - I've got a pair of headlight buckets I picked up on e-bay some time ago trying to get replacement lenses when my passenger headlamp took a rock hit. I subsequently found replacement lenses from a different source, so I never used either bucket. They are intact with no broken tabs or cracks. However, one bucket is from the earlier 140 design with a single dual-filament bulb for hi/lo beam. The other is a later design where the separate beams are handled by separate bulbs. I don't remember which bucket is for which side, but I'll let either one or both go for a song - lots cheaper than what you'll face from MB for a new bucket. PM me if you're interested. |
