My '83 380SL has an inoperative Fuel "Economy" gauge. Needle stays on right peg - never moves. Everything else in dash and on car works fine. Vaccuum hose to gauge is connected. Any way to test or resolve this issue?

IF there is vacuum to the guage with the engine running then the guage must be the problem.
