01 S600 #1 cyl msifire

I just replaced the R/H ignition bank (cassette) to stop the #1 misfire that my shop told me needed to be done. No change. Their laptop shows only #1 cyl is misfiring and shutting off the injector after it recognizes the misfire. When I idle at 1500 or greater rpm's it runs perfectly, let it down to idle and it misses. Is it an injector leak? Intake manifold leak? HELP ME, this is getting very expensive very quickly...Thx

Seriously Rose, that car will misfire till the cows come home. There are about five factory released bulletins regarding that mis-fire. That being said, there are five different causes for that mis-fire, none of them cheap. I don't mean to sound rude but if you're worried about repairs "getting expensive" you own the wrong car. That car was meant to perform, not endure. Good luck.

Question 01 S600 cyl misfire

Get this Melcher: After the r/h bank ign pack was replaced and nothing changed, I removed the neg batt cable for 1 hour, reconnected it, now the car runs as smooth as silk, with the same power it had before the miss began. What is up with that ??????

Chances are you reset the computer by disconnecting the battery.
If/when the mis-fire problem comes back, you will have the same symptoms.
Another shop perhaps?
How much was the " repair " ?

The reapir was $1150 for the ign pwr pack, $110 diagnostic, and $300 for the labor to replace pwr pack.

Where can I get access to the MB SB's that address the mis-fire that you speak of??
