Arthur, pardon my ignorance but what is bailing wire? any special wire? is it metal?

It is a single strand Binding type of wire that is commonly used/seen on a Farm. It is used basically fo any type of binding/repairs/holding , etc. It is stiff enough to hold it's position, yet easily bent for the user to configerate at will. Kinda like a small diameter Coat hanger..like for hanging that muffler back up so you can get home before it rips your whole exhaust system off..
![]() ![]() Back in the old days [ Before the War] , a common saying was " Spit,bailng wire and chewing gum" would fix her right up.. Bailing Wire same as Safety Wire...
Same stuff we used on every "wire secured fastener" I ever replaced.

Not quite ... Most Saftey Wire is Soft SS so it does not rust.. bailing wire is just maluable steel. But they are cousins..
