I noticed the valance under the bumper in my '88 300E has what appears to be removable sections for a set of driving/fog lights. Can lights in fact be mounted in the valance? Seems like a easy way to increase the light output.

If your 88 is like my '87, there is only a removable panel on the passenger side - it conceals a tow hook.
