A/C Problem and Power Window Problem

My 1989 300E has 2 problems. The first is the power window on the front passanger side. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. Today I wanted to drive with all the windows down in the car and the front passanger side window was not working all day. When I went home late I tried the window again and there was no problem, it worked as if it was brand new. I have no idea what the problem is.

Second the A/C. I mentioned this problem before and check everything that was mentioned. When I put the a/c on or even the cool air, it will work fine for a while but then out of no where the heat will start coming through the car vents and will not stop until I turn the car off for about 5 to 10 min, then the car will start to blow cold air again for a while then hot.

I checked the tention on my belt that raps around the alternator (etc..) and there was no problem. I changed the push botton controls on the dash, this did not fix the problem. Is there anything else I should be looking for?

Thanks,

Fab

Could be a bad climate control relay aka Klima relay . Had same A/C problems also on my 89 300e two summers ago, but mine was due to the compressor going bad. I had the compressor, dryer & expansion valve replaced and everything has been working good to this point.

300 E Ac and window

I noticed the same problem on mine. Been working on it much of the day while reading posts. I thought I had the heater/blower aspect of it fixed and then it stopped working again. Very random. Blower works then does not.

Checked the fuse. Was corroded and cleaned it. It started working again... Then stopped. I checked the AC pressure and temp switches to determine if it was the CC unit. I pulled the Relay...Pounded on the bench a few times and put it back in. It worked! The compressor even started working again... Then stopped. I'm now getting seriously worried I'll have to replace or fix that CC unit that everyone says is so expensive..

I finally read a post about an ignition switch tumber... Jiggled the ignition switch while runining and low and behold everything works! Except one thing. My AC is not cold. The heater is killer now! But when you dial down the AC to max it just gets less warm. A little warmer that outside temp. Can't figure that one out. If the compressor works, it has to be charged...

Any ideas?

there are wires at the dryer disconnect-spray with electrical cleaner/wd-40 that may be of help seems alot of things happen because of that little bermuda triangle area...this is on the left front near the radiator.
