How to test window lift switches
I recently upgraded the wood trin inm y 1989 300TE by buying a used, 3-piece set from a 1995 E320 wagon. I bought the shift surround wood, the ashtray wood and the A/C - upper controls wood. The wood is used and it has some flaws, but it looks really good and it blends wellw ith my 300TE's interiors.
Incidentally, the 1995 shift surround wood console does not ahve a fader switch. In my car's case that works out perfectly. When I had my audio dealer install the Alpine h/u I asked them to bypass the Benz fader. So when I installed the "new" wood I had no need for a fader control. I think that the console looks cleaner w/o the fader control. (I'll post pics later). The shift surround wood trim came with four window lift switches, the child safety switch and the remote rearview mirrors switch. I don't need the window lift switches and I would like to sell them, but I don't want to sell them w/o first making sure they work. The switches from a 1995 W124 do not fit the plug for a 1989 W124. Is there any way to bench test the window lift switches? Same thing for the remote outside rearview mirror control switch. How can I test it? (It does not work in my car because in my car only the right hand side rearview mirror is remotely controlled, the left side has that "paddle" on the door that controls it). I know that the child safety switch works. Anyhow, any suggestions onhow to test the switches would be greatly appreciated it. I would like to sell the four window lift switches, the rearview mirror control switch and the fader control switch. Thanks.
