- From your experience, at what intervals (miles and/or years) does the Airmatic suspension on a w220 mk1 need maintenance/repairing? What usually goes wrong and at what cost?

There's no required maintenance other than routine inspection of Air-Matic components. The most common failure is the pump itself.

Air-matic pump failure is the most common. Then the relay.. OF course the 2000-03 cars have a problem at the front strut seals. MB offers a re-seal kit for that problem..

Not really any maintenance schedule
