Losing Oil

Despite a recent check for no oil leaks under UV lights, I am still losing about 1/2 quart of oil per week while driving 200 miles on average. Does anyone know what might be the probable causes? Please advise. Thanks in advance, Myron

myron

a car with a catalytic converter can be putting a lot of oil out its tail pipe and the catalytic converter can eat it up hence no smoke out the back. have you had an exhaust gas analysis?

that is a lot of oil. is the car running fine?

How many miles on engine?

Might be time for a valve job. Stopped my terrible oil consumption.
