Pict of my Fuel pump relay
This is what I found when I took my fuel pump relay apart.
Terminals 15 and 87 are connected. Anybody have a relay for a 88 420 SEL? Thanks Ken |

I soldered mine from a 1988 300E and worked fine.
Is this one completely gone? |

I think there should be more "stuff" in a relay.
The car dies after 10 minutes of running. I thought the problem was this relay. If this is a good fix, then I have other problems Ken |

it looks to me that the relay was replaced before and instead of fixing or replacing the relay they just sorted wires 30 and 87 (do not renember the numbers, chech for that) so the pumps will just start working when you turn the key on. This is evident by the missing electronics (resistors, inductors etc). Again, I want to say my experience comes from fixing my fule pump relay from an 88 300E. Maybe somebody more experienced can help here.

It's been gutted. A quick and simple 'fix'.
