560 SEL Hydraulic suspension hose leak?
I noticed that the hydraulic reservoir on my 1990 560SEL was almost empty and the rear was sagging a little so I added fluid and it started spraying from a hose that comes around the front of the engine. It looks like this hose is going to be a real pain to replace. Where is the best place to get it? Any tips on how to replace it would be great as I don't want to go tearing my car all to pieces if there is an easier way!
Thanks. |

Thanks
Thanks for the reply.
After seeing the price I decided to try making it myself so I bought a length of hydraulic hose and using the original fittings off of the old hose, put it together and now have it working perfectly! I really like the nice reusable fittings Mercedes used. Cost me $9.00 for the entire fix. It would have cost about $137.00 if I had bought a hose! |

Actually I took the old one in to my local hydraulic shop and the guy got a terrified look when I said Mercedes, after he looked at the hose we just took it apart and I put it back together while he dealt with another customer (I got impatient) He said it should be as good as new and the hose we used was actually better than the OEM hose so I feel good about that. I'll get a chance to give it a good test soon as I'll be loading up the trunk with quite a bit of weight for a trip next week.
