SLK320 not shifting from first gear
Hello, while driving my 2001 SLK320 (only about 32,000miles) the "Check Engine" light came on and refused to shift out of first gear. Immediately had the transmission fluid checked and found it to be near empty! After filling this back up whenever I restart the car the "check engine" light is still on and the car refuses to shift out of first gear...I'm guessing it is in "limp home" mode? Any ideas what might be causing this here? Thanks for any information.

How did you check the trans. fluid level? Do you have your own dipstick?
Check for leaks and DO NOT drive that vehicle with low trans. fluid. Get repaired ASAP. Did you use the MB fluid for the transmission? |

You need to have ALL the modules scanned for codes and adaptive values. That is the only way to diagnose a transmission drivability problem
