fuel pump problems with my 300e

My car started lunging and acting like it was out of gas last week, being that I had just replaced the fuel filter, and one of the pumps was winning pretty loud, I assumed it was the fuel pump.
To my understanding both the pumps are the same, and it shouldn't matter if they are switched around or not. So I switched them around and replaced the one that was making all the noise.
now when I turn the key the fuel pump won't even engage. It sounds like a solinoid under the hood. I can hear it clicking but the fuel pump never engages.
What have I done? Should I ****ch the order back around? I can't seem to find any blown fuses, and I'm stumped
Please help

changed fuel pump and fuel relay & still car dosn't run

I put a remanufactured fuel pump in and then I wasn't getting any power to it, so I went to the junk yard and found a fuel relay that was out of another 300e but it was a superseeded part number.
Now I'm getting power to the fuel pump but when I try to accelerate the car just starts to stumble and will eventually stall out

Anyone have any suggestions?

Shawnisco, welcome to my land of fukced up fuel problems. I own a 300E as well, and if you read any of my previous threads, you'd be surprised that my car is still in the driveway. I made threats saying I wanted to blow it up; unfortunately I havent done that yet. I am having pretty much the same problem you are having, as far as the engine idling for a few seconds and then dying out.

As far as the Fuel Pump switching goes, Im not an expert or anything, but I suggest switching them back to their normal positions. I hate that fact that Mercedes Benz cars are so fukcin complicated, but I guess thats what makes them better cars. I would just swicth the two fuel pumps back, sonce there may be sensors or other gadgets that may have an effect on the pumps. I would suggest, like J.HIDALGO said, do an extensive search on that issue. Check back later...

PEACE!
