Need Pic showing how to solder/jump a rheostat

I'm trying to fix my mom's dash light on her car. The gear selector light works and other light on the dash, but the lights around the instrument cluster is not working. I've checked the fuse and even changed the bulbs. I got a feeling the rheostat is NOT working.

I've read on this forum about soldering/jumping the rheostat. Can someone please post a pic of what I'm supposed to do?

Thanks.
