190E Leaky Fuel Pump
I've been chasing down a small fuel leak on my 89 190E 2.6, and I've come to the conclusion that the fuel pump itself is leaking. I've gone through and replaced all of the banjo washers and the check valve. All of this is dry. The only thing left is the end of the pump itself. It looks like it is leaking either around the end cap where it is crimped to the body, or possibly through the stud where the electrical connection is made.
I couldn't find any information on this in my forum searches, all of the other fuel leak discussions ended with copper washers. Has anyone else experienced this? Since I'm going to have to replace one pump because of the leak, does it make sense to replace both of them? Thanks.. Duane |
