m 130 engine rebuild saga
Hello guys
Yesterday started the saga of my W108 280S M130.920 engine rebuild saga, I was driving the car gently on the highway 45mph, temp 80°C, oil pressure 3 (full read). When I hit the road the car was smoking a little (I must say that I guess the head gasket must be damage due to the water lost in the cooling system, bubles in the radiator tank and water in the engine oil) after about 25 miles the smoke gone and the car was runnig very smooth, then when I hit a hill the revs and speed come so down that I shift to 2 (automatic tranny) and sundely a huge and I mean a huge amount of white smoke comes from my pipe, the temp and iol pressure was steady (80, 3) and no stragens sounds in the engine. I decided to tow the car the rest of the way and started again just to parked in the garage but no smoke comes trough the pipe. A friend of mine told me about the posibilities of a transmission vacum fail cause a cloud of smoke and maybe is no more damage to the engine. I would like to know what the list have to said about, I will pulling the engine out to check anyway. Thanks Roberto |
