My 95' E320 has 107,000 miles. Lately, the car will start and idle just fine, then when put into drive, it will start to miss on what seems like at least two of the six cylinders, a little throttle seems to fix the problem. Also, when accelerating on the highway, it again starts to miss on some of the cylinders, but when I back off the throttle, the car will again run smooth. This pattern is repeating itself more frequently. The car is at a MB dealer now. So far they have replaced the intake manifold gasket and mass air sensor to no avail. Do they have a clue? or am I just putting their kids through college for a problem I can fix myself through this forum?

What you describe sounds like an insulation-fault of the suppressors. Measuring the resistance of them is NOT always conclusive. Give it a shot and change them.

Usually you can get away with just the ones under the coils [ three].. they are the ones that fail and when they do, they cause a skip in 2 cylinders as the coil fires 2 in series. Might want to change the plugs while you are there as they are the cheap Bosch coppers..
