Is there such a thing as an EGR (exhaust/gas/remixer) valve on my type/model/year MB. If so, where would it be located at and would it be a cause or contributing factor to a rough idle. Thanks.

the egr valve is sitting on the exhaust manifold. It has a single vacuum line attached to it. If it is stuck open or the rubber diapragm is bad the idle may suffer. To test it see if it holds vacuum. If it holds vacuum start the car and apply vacuum to the valve, the car should stumble as the egr essentially creates a vacuum leak at idle. Also listen...is it hissing?
